Oh Lord my God,
You make love so real to me.
No matter how many times i feel hurt,
Your love is far greater than my pain.
You to me are like the rain,
that makes the grass sprout.
What more Oh Lord, could I ask for?
When your love surpasses all...

His Everlasting Covenant
I was reading the book of Ezekiel 16 this morning which talks about the Lord’s unfaithful bride, and as I did, I was reminded of the life I had back then. The story talked about Jerusalem likened to that of a woman’s birth. She was found in the street with her chord uncut and she was bathed in her own blood. Nobody even looked at her, nor pitied her. And when the Lord passed by her wallowing in her blood, He said “Live!” (Ezekiel 16 1:6)
It further described how the Lord God cleansed the woman and let her flourish and bloom until such time when she looked so lovely. Then God made a covenant with her and He adorned her with silver and gold and clothed her with fine linen and silk. Then she grew exceedingly beautiful. (Ezekiel 16:13) And when she did, that’s the time she forgot who took care of her.
I pondered and looked back on where I came from. God took noticed of a dirty, sick person like me and sent His Son Jesus Christ to save me from my filthy sins. He cleansed me with His own blood and redeemed me that I may become pure in His sight. I grew in loved with Him, but later on got messed up with the pleasures of the world and forgot about my first love.
What was so amazing and exceedingly wonderful is the faithfulness of God. His covenant that is everlasting. Though we stumble and fall, yet if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1John 1:9). His anger last only a moment, but his favor last for a lifetime (Psalm 30:5).
Praised be to the God who is ever so true! The God whose love never ends! Amen!
