Long Wait

“Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised.  This is why it was credited to him as righteousness.” Romans 4:20-22

It was a long wait for Abraham.  God promised to make him the father of many nations yet such promise was given to him after a very long wait.  The verse above says “he” referring to Abraham, “did not waver through unbelief”.

I wonder how he was able to live each day waiting for God to fulfill His promise to him…as the song says “strength will rise, as we wait upon the Lord”, so did Abraham’s faith was increased and strengthened.

While we wait for God to fulfill a promise, He prepares and molds us each day so that when the day comes, we are worthy to receive the blessing that God prepared for us, and give Him the glory He deserves.  It is on the process of waiting where we will slowly realize that there are so many things in our lives that need transformation.

Abraham was fully persuaded that God had the power to do what He promised.  Never did Abraham doubt what God can do, he strongly believed in the greatness of God’s power…and this was credited to him as righteousness.

True enough, God made Abraham the father of many nations.  The song goes “Father Abraham has many children, many children has father Abraham, I am one of them, and so are you, so let’s just praise the Lord!”

Amen!
