“Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” James 4:14
Life is short, it is indeed! The bible says that our life is like that of a mist, you see it now, and then it’s gone.
But while we are given the opportunity to enjoy life, let us make the most out of it. How?
Let me share some insights I learned from yesterday afternoon’s Sunday Church Service:
Make the Most of YOUR Life. The emphasis here is the word “YOUR”, with its corresponding acronyms.
Y – Yield to Christ
O – Obey His commands
U – Unite with Christian brethren
R – Rejoice in the Lord
YIELD TO CHRIST. “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” (John 15:4)
OBEY HIS COMMANDS. “If you love me, you will obey what I command. “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching" (John 14:15, 23, 24)
UNITE WITH CHRISTIAN BRETHREN. “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1)
“not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25)
REJOICE IN THE LORD. “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Philippians 4:14)
Truly, my brothers and sisters, in Christ there is hope. Salvation belongs to Him. If we offer our lives to God, His peace which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Have a great week ahead! God bless!

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. -Psalm 119:105(NIV)

Yes! We Can.
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13, KJV
What is in store for us this 2012? What are the things we want to do this year? How are we going to accomplish them?
I would like to share with you what I learned from last Sunday’s sermon. The verse was one of my favorites. It says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It was a good reminder on the very first day of the year 2012.
Do we truly believe that all things can be done? In the context that we are studying, when Paul said “I can do all things” he meant “all things which were God’s will for him to do.” Whatever Christ wants us to do, He will supply us with strength to accomplish it according to His sufficient grace and mighty power.
To answer the question what is in store for us this 2012, I say, I don’t know what this year brings, I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I have confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ that He is faithful to complete what He has started in us (Phil.1:6), and even in our times of weakness, He is there to make us strong.
As for the things that we want to do this year, let them all be for the glory of God. Seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness. Seek God’s will and direction then He will teach us what is best for us and directs us in the way we should go (Isaiah 48:17). Let us desire for one thing, to do all things that glorify God and exalt His Holy Name.
How are we going to accomplish them? THROUGH CHRIST who gives us strength, we can accomplish all things.
Yes! We can.
