“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness”. - 1 John 1:9
We, the people of God who are not of this
world can testify how merciful our God is. God is the god of forgiveness. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. No matter how small or big it is, He forgives if we confess our sins wholeheartedly and will repent. God listens and forgives us in any circumstances.
But, take note that even if God is
so faithful to us, He will never tolerate
any sins to prosper. He will teach us or rebuke us for us to learn from our
mistakes. He is also the God of Holiness and He never dwells on darkness.
Assuming you have a friend who most
often did something wrong to you, he/she may lie to you for his/her own good
and yet you always forgive him/her but suddenly you get tired of his/her lame
excuses and invalid reasons. Would you still allow him/her to make the same
mistakes? I bet you won’t. If we people can feel that way, how much more to our
God who seeks peace and holiness to the world. Take these words I learnt from
one of our Praise and Worship Leaders, “The person who understands forgiveness
by God’s grace won’t continue in sin, but will grow more sensitive to the ways
of the God who has freely pardoned him”.
Mark this day as you pray and
confess your sins to Him. Repent and ask for forgiveness for all the things you
have done that are unappealing. Open your heart and yourself to allow God to
take you away from the world that is full of sins. Let Him pull you again
towards Him. Offer your life to Him.
Turn to Jesus, our Lord and Savior,
who knows and understands us better than ourselves.
Turn to Jesus, our only God who has
seen all of our sins yet has loved us the same.
Turn to Jesus, our hope who will
always help us get back on our feet.
You have to decide to follow Jesus;
No
turning back,
No
turning back.
